Ne Nebraska | Last year I had about 1/3 of my pair home early because out of grass. Worked them calves about 3 weeks prior to weaning, Since they were home already. The other 2/3 I pulled off the cow and worked same day as weaning. The ones I worked 3 weeks prior to weaning were 90+% of my pulls and treats. Never doing 3 weeks before weaning again here! Day off is my preferred, or if I did do early i’d try to make 45 days min, preferably 60 days prior to weaning. Beings I don’t have any facilities in pastures I’ll be sticking with day of weaning for now. | |
