We had a 1060 that did that. I blamed it on the cheap zenith knives dad bought. They started to crack as well. We tried new stones as well. Nothing helped. Sold it soon after we got rid of the cows.

NH sharpening system on the NH 770 we had was far superior. All knives sharpened even.
