Subject: Anyone feed holstein heifers?

SC Wisconsin
I start newborn holsteins and holstein crosses, feed them to fat on stuffers with pellets and whole corn. I have always bought calves from a handful of local dairies. We usually set the price for when I fill hutches going off salebarn and that's the price I pay for the couple weeks it takes me to fill. I'll usually take the twins and any extra heifers, I've never really noticed much if a difference in performance on the heifers other than they might go through a heat or 3 towards the end, I ship them around 15 months of age. I have noticed that they can be$100-$150 back qa newborns at the barn though. I'm half tempted to fill 40 of the hutches with heifers so they can be their own group entirely and just see how they do as a group. I know some guys feed mga to suppress heats on heifers but I never have so I dont know how well it mixes with a shelled corn and pellet diet. Just trying to think outside the box, I would appreciate any input from those who maybe have some more insight on it. Thanks
