SW MI | Our best bang for the buck was purchasing heavy feeders, 7-800#, and finishing on corn for freezer beef sales. On bed pack from that point onto finish was no issue. Feed from that point on needs to be quality, or you won't have any more freezer beef costumers. Also, get your hand in the processing if you're able. Work at the butcher shop part time, develop a relationship, knock the processing price down, save up to start your own shop. | |
