So just an update on my new stock trailer that had Shelby Trailer flooring in it. Just got run around by trailer manufacture, dealer finally wanted to do something this week. However, we ripped the decking out on the last 4' of trailer and was going to put lumber back in. So, sitting around last Friday night I found Shelby's Facebook account and sent a message late Friday night. Well, their sales representative contacted me yesterday. Sent them pictures of installation. Flat out said not installed properly, and some short boards. They were more than willing to drop ship me product, however little deal of a supposed to be stocking dealer in Idaho, but I assume only wants to order on as needed basis. Freight is the killer, anything over 8' gets cost prohibitive unless booking a long bunk of 16' coming semi. No trailer manufactures in this area to bring it in for their production.
Hands down never had a problem with the product, just bad installation which everyone agreed on, but the trailer manufacture. Shelby's representative didn't know when they could get product to me. We need trailer for the next two months steady, so going to forgo their offer for new product. Going to use wood. Freight is the biggest killer for most products we use, even new trailers. Getting new trailer out of Texas will cost us three times the price for freight vs. coming from Kansas. | |
