The Internet

Schuerman Farms - 8/29/2023 01:55 They keep building wider air seeders, requiring larger tractors. As tractors get larger, they keep build wider seeders. Quite the interesting chicken and the egg. Like the big steam engine tractors of old, think we're about to see the end of the horsepower war in plains monsters and they will be replaced with swarms of smaller autonomous machines that require much less manpower to cover the same, or more, acres per day.

I'm not so sure. Most on here say at least, that they don't like any tractor that's under 30 years old, how will they cope with the electronics that automony requires?

There's quite a degree of automation on  a combine now, but that only sets and runs it, it can't change a broken section, nor can it decide to cut the field in a different order to get the damp patch out of the way in the late afternoon, or deal with the tree limb that fell down.

Autonomous sprayer? Who's going to load it, or keep and eye on the nozzels? You might as well sit in the cab as twiddle your thumbs at the filling point.

I cold go on.
