Central Indiana
From what I’ve read, seen here, and paid attention to tours I’d say this is an average to slightly below average crop. Starting east to west Ohio probably little above average on both due to their late planting date. Indiana average maybe a tick above on both crops. Illinois average with some areas being excellent and some being disappointing. When I say average im saying 200 not 180 or 220. Iowa below average on both. 190 corn and 55-60 on beans possible? Not the normal 200 and 65. MN eh kinda variable some good some bad but average to slightly below. WI below average on both. SD average could go either way. NE average to below average. Not sure irrigated will make up for dryland losses. KS above ave where rains were and below where it’s not. Exception is next weeks heat if it will finish off the good then below. Missouri below on corn and ave on beans where they got the 10+ rain. Haven’t heard much out of KY, TN, PA, Mississippi, ND just so I don’t leave anyone out. These areas still contribute to grain production and without them carry out wouldn’t be what it is with a 170+ crop. These are all just observations I have no boots on the ground except right here. Good areas where I’m at will help balance out poor areas in most states. No records no widespread disasters. I feel for parts of Missouri and NE Iowa also those in NE and KS that had a decent crop coming just to watch it wither out. My projections are 48.7bu/ac beans and 169.7 on corn. Beans have room to go up if SA crop isn’t excellent with short carry out. Corn is just so so with enough carry out at that yield to make some nervous but no reason to jump back to $6 either. If you GBS it just hold tight until some USDA numbers come to fruition and cash in then. Good luck with harvest and stay safe everyone. Those extra 2 minutes won’t make you sleep better at night.
