EC SD | I drove a bit over 150 mile loop in my area today. About 80% of the corn has completely brown husks compared to none a week ago. Some is tipping the ears down like in your picture too. A few fields were being chopped for silage.
My own corn varies by hybrid. Completely brown husks on some hybrids, and a couple hybrids with green husks yet. I checked on those and they are now at 1/2 milk line from dough stage a week ago.
I have never seen progression from dough to 1/2 milk line in a single week!! | |
