DBindiana - 8/27/2023 08:58 If you like baskets, why in the world would you not get something like a JD 726 with 3 bar harrow and baskets mounted. Long time ago we had a field cultivator and pull basket and then went to the 726 with baskets. So much better not being so long. Have a CaseIH Tigermate 200 with mounted baskets now and like it the same. Edit: Pulled the 28' 726 with a 7140 & 7240. Pull the 32' Tigermate with the 7240.

The mounted baskets are nice for maneuverability and storage.    There is no comparison to the job that a mounted basket does vs a pull behind DMI crumbler type of implement.    Esp in dry (or cloddy) conditions, you can't put enough down pressure on a mounted basket to do the firming job that the DMI crumbler does.

We currently have a Krause 6200 finisher with a round bar mounted basket and in the past had a White 230 field cultivator with a DMI crumbler behind it.   I like the finisher but the FC & crumbler left a firmer and smoother finish.

There are honestly times I'd like to pull a crumbler behind the finisher to try to firm things up more.

I've never ran a DMI basket but the JD 726 with baskets or Tigermate with baskets do as good of job as the Unverferth pull behind baskets we had.
