 East of Broken Bow | My cousin is a carpenter, and his attitude for things like a 'sag' in a roof is that if it took 150 years to sag a little, and is still solid and not in danger of collapsing, is to leave it alone. It might be good for another 100 years before it 'needs' to be fixed, and sometimes when you try to straighten lumber that took a century to warp, it can crack. I don't know if this is true or if he was just running a line by me, but he said it is stronger if you leave the warp, than if you tried to jack it straight without extra bracing. | |
