Subject: RE: PFT National Yields

SE Arkansas
You are thinking of Unruhfarms in Mississippi. He did a contest for a Yeti Cooler the last two years. He’s a frequent poster, but he’s picking Corn Right now. My post was 2 years ago because we have a Cotton-Corn rotation. The land is an 1/8 of section home place that I grew up on. It had 33 acres of farm land and a 29 acre pecan orchard which was beyond its useful life. I took out the Pecan Orchard, precision leveled the 62 farmable acres, put in a well and underground pipes for furrow irrigation. I’ve put a lot of chicken litter and cover crops over the last 10 years and now it’s very productive and pretty consistent. A Buddy of mine farms it and he picked 238 dry two years ago. That’s a big number down here. Kind of expecting something similar this year because the yields in our county are huge this year. Got some interesting and unexpected results from my samples. I thought I would wait until next week to post after the PFT and Heat wave were over and the site calmed down. The Corn should be ready to harvest by the end of next week if my Buddy can get to it. He has about 2500 acres of Corn to harvest.
