I'll stand up and say that not long ago i really thought this was shaping up to be a cool, slow grain fill period that would negate some crappo crop condition reports, reminiscent of maybe 2017 in much of the corn belt.   The last five days and the next ten days, with the lack of a late summer hurricane to push storms up from the gulf or something similar to break the pattern, is certainly not providing that just-in-time strong finish.
