Subject: Re: Future of Cotton?

Here in Ala. we have to much heat to get those high bean yields with the exception of 09. Wilson will back me up that 09 was an extreamly good bean crop year. The only time that i havent planted cotton was 2 years in the 70s when beans were 12 dollars and drought hit both years and like to have broke my a##. Anyone who has grown cotton as long as i have will tell you cotton has all ways paid the bills. That being said with the cost of seed going out of sight plus other inputs skyrockrting you have to have those high yields. Do we get them ever year, no,but look at your insurance yields and in a bad year see which pays the most but everone knows what thier farm is capable of and i am certainly not knocking grain farmers in my area. For me in 0-10 it will 60-40 cotton and grain for we have land like most evey one else that will stay wet to long to plant cotton.
