Watertown, WI | We have a new-to-us 2008 AGCO DT240A that is Auto-Guide ready. It has the CAN steering valve, sensors, and connector on the roof. I see some conflicting information on the Auto-Guide 1 (AG1) vs Auto-Guide 2 (AG2) compatibilities. From what I can gather from manuals and NAT, the biggest change is the Beeline to Topcon receiver/controller. There seem to be some minor changes in the wiring such as the enable rocker. However, the parts books show the same sensors and I believe the same steering valve (firmware aside). Trimble advertises being compatible with both AG1 and AG2 for the Autopilot in the installation manual. I think it might just be a different connector behind the right-hand post requiring an adapter. Ag Leader only shows documentation for AG2. It also appears that the AG2 requires the steering valve to be on firmware 1.35? Is that also an AG1 vs AG2 difference?
I was thinking of just picking up a used Paradyme since they are inexpensive and can plug right into the roof harness and pair it with an Integra. Even though I can pick up some cheap Auto-Guide B4 receivers, we've been trying to standardize to Ag Leader on the farm so I think this would be a better solution.
Will the Paradyme function fine on an AG1 ready machine?
Does the steering valve require a firmware update? If so, is there any way outside of a dealer to get it done?
Thanks for the help as always,
Aaron
