The pivot helps with any change in direction. Even in general curves the plow fought the tractor, besides putting immense pressure on the pivot in the shank and the quick attach in the frame of the tractor. It was practically impossible to tile around a corner in heavy clay because the tractor would make the turn, but wouldn’t let you steer back out of the turn. Now there is essentially no resistance from the plow in a direction change. I feel like there is far less stress on the tractor itself because I just don’t feel the plow like I used to.

B&M Welding did all the labor besides fabricating the pivot and frame mount. It was in the neighborhood of $7k. I don’t know what he would charge to fabricate the mount and you install it. The new mount also removed some of the boot movement that you get when the plow starts into the beginning of a run.

We have a 6’ plow.
