Western Illinois
Western Illinois, here. Crop is no where near “made” yet. Corn is just starting to dent. Beans are just filling over 50% of the pods yet. We are 2-3 weeks from maturity on corn. A good month on beans yet. 3 or 4 days of 100° isn’t going to kill our crop, but it will definitely rob a little yield. How much is will be determined by any potential rainfall after this warm stretch. And it looks minimal at this point. My guess would me 3-10 bu potential loss on beans. 5-25 bu potential loss on corn. Depends on moisture the next few weeks after this excessive heat.
