I've run s Series 1 now going on season 5. It's a nice head until any work needs to be done....Parts and Support great. It's just a pain in the butt to work on. Always had Deere strongly considering going back...
Look a the GT, much nicer design to work on in my opinion. No wrap chains, and way less bearings like the Series 1. More gearbox style header.
When Drago showed up looking for a dealer we weren't looking to add a cornhead to our product line, but the GT row unit sold me. It's build with reliability in mind, and is the closest thing to the rock solid old Gleaner huggers we've ran for years and barely worked on....If they would have showed me a Series 1 header and told me I would have customers bringing me those to work on, I might have told them to get bent LOL
There's just a lot going un under the older heads, and they aren't hard to work on, just very annoying for how some things come apart.
Just throwing it out there for you, the newer design is DIFFERENT
