Thank you everyone for the feedback, it never occurred to me (ignorance) that these companies are more investment focused than farmer focused. It makes perfect sense that they would be that way so I am very glad I asked on here. I agree with the poster above, I don't understand how anyone pencils a return with land prices where they are without thousands of owned acres to spread the loss over. Seems like the market is due for a correction, but I would wager people said that the first time land went over $1000 per acre as well.
