West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge
Every time the market sells off after what looks to be bullish news, social media experts are incredulous as to who would keep selling wheat in the face of such news.
I assume the actual answer is Russia continuing to unload their large crop, to pay the bills.
But if I put on my tin foil hat, could this Short selling be done by quasi government money? If Russia is trying to weaponize wheat by blocking exports, to drive the price high enough to drive the West to the negotiating table, could the West be trying to cancel that effect by relentlessly selling every rally to keep the price artificially low? Which also starves Russia of capital as they are forced to sell at depressed prices.
Who else can afford to take on that kind of risk?
