Subject: RE: A2 milk on the farm

nw NC
Many people have told me that they can not drink processed milk without experiencing stomach discomfort or diarrhea. They get some of my raw Holstein milk and they have no problems consuming it. Who knows if it is just the fact that heating for pasteurization destroys the enzymes in the milk that aid digestion of it or if my cows have A2 milk.

To the original poster... Milk your cow out every twelve hours. Bottle feed the calf every 8 hours. Letting a calf suck the cow you are wanting to milk is not a good idea. Cow will learn to hold back her milk for the calf . Calf will be difficult to wean off the cow when the time comes. No matter if they are kept apart for a few weeks in order to wean the calf, if they get, or are put together , the calf will still suck the cow. I have a few beef cows that their calves were never separated from them. Those calves are now cows with calves of their own. Some of the young mother cows will suck other cows.
