Thank you for the advice, Right now there is no calf on her and her due date is Dec 6th and we are planning on leaving the calf on for 4 to 5 months. We will milk once a day except when drying her off then every other for a week or 2. Then she’ll dry up the way I understand. Still have some studying to do and the farm we got her from has been very patient in answering our questions. Can I give a shout out? Hill Top Jerseys of Missouri


I know there are several dry off protocols and opinions out there, but milking after last milking before dry off would prevent the keratin plug formation. I suspect you may be going the antibiotic free route so working with natural processes may be helpful.
