If they are overeaters, the addiction to sugar and carbs is as strong as the addiction to hard drugs, maybe stronger.

Standard dieting advice is to "eat less of the same food that drives your addictions."

Nowadays, folks on here are promoting Keto and Carnivore ways of eating that eliminate the foods that we are addicted to.

Treatment for drugs or alcohol is never "take a little at every meal," it's "use none, stay away from it, eliminate it from your life." Same goes for sugar and addictive carbs. Every little cheat treat or cheat meal can spiral into gaining back too many pounds.

As with other drugs, some people can easily moderate consumptions, but others need to abstain from their addictions.
