This is going to sound dumb.
I had a forklift that had a problem similar to what you are describing. What would happen was moisture would build up inside the engine from not getting warmed up good. Moisture would follow the distributor shaft up. I have changed the oil and had it help.
I started covering the radiator and that took care of the problem. Actually the funny part was when I sold the business they made fun of me covering the radiator. After a week or so they started having problems.
Just curious. What is the white co0ating on everything?
Any chance that could hold the moisture and contribute to the problem?
