The little plastic tire that raises up with the door needs some diagonal grooves in it to have traction on the net. Surely somebody has done that by now.
As mentioned, check mesh wrap routing. Worn belts, mesh buildup on rollers on tailgate all contribute to poor running. Crap on that pan beneath the beltscan mess with it too.
