As posted above 17E95 family will definitely tip back, but at the same time it will also be very high yielding in any competitive comparison type test plot (at least around this part of the world). Those ears are 40 plus long & look to be VERY girthy. 18-20 rows around. That # also should have long kernel length as well, from where I've looked at it last year. You may have had some type of stress influence, like high nighttime temperature affect yield or something along those lines. Can't comment on your fertility, being too much difference in soil types. How do those ears look to other # that you planted? Good luck & be safe.
