| Here is the math, a 185 CFM compressor puts out 1,383 gallons per minute (185 x 7.48 gallons ), An 80 gallon tank holds 598 cubic feet ( 80 x 7.48 ). The catch is that depending on compressor size, it may take 1- 3 or more minutes to fill the 80 gallon tank. For blowing off a combine, it may take considerably longer with the 5-10 HP electric. A10 HP electric will develop around 40 CFM, a 5 HP around 20 CFM. Just food for thought. 185 CFM will deliver around 4.5 times as much air as a 10 HP electric. | |
