Screw types are very efficient, compared to piston. I rarely see a screw type that doesn't put out more then 100 CFM, requiring around 25 HP electric. They are available in smaller sizes, but are hard to find, and considerably more expensive than a piston. I depends on your use and volume requirements. It would be a slow go on blowing off larger equipment. Most people use at least a 185 CFM diesel.
