Subject: RE: good machinery decisions

Alberta, Canada
Good! Buying a bale processor, we couldn't have cattle without it.

Good! Buying a semi / trailer for hauling bales, replaced a pickup or tractor and 8 bale trailer.

Bad decision, deciding to make our own hay and Silage! As part of that, the decision to go big square over the rounds cost an obscene amount of money (both machinery and building costs for hay storage)

Harder to make good hay (needs to be dryer than for round bales, is hard in this climate)
