If you could pack it good in your tote (maybe have the boys tromp on it?) and then cover the top with plastic and weight it with something I would think it would ferment and keep. The trick would be feeding it, maybe tip it over on its side and scoop it out into the loader bucket. Sounds like a make work project but worth a shot.
