Chilliwack BC
I took a few calculations this fall when bagging corn silage. We used a 12 foot bagger.

8300 kg's at 55% moisture took up exactly 6' of bag

Mathematically, that works out to 13.5 ft of 8 foot bag.

But 55% was dry and if you adjust the moisture to a normal 72%, the load weighed 13,340 kg. (I hope my math is right)

That comes in at exactly a metric ton per foot for an 8 foot bagger or slightly more than 2 tons per foot for a 12 footer.

We had then tension set tight enough to kink the backrack and rip the cable spool of the frame.

Moisture was determined by a lab.
Weights were measured by a certified scale.
I used a tape measure to measure movenment between loads.

I hope this helps.

Here's a video of it from this fall.
