It could be that your bull carries a twin gene too. ( happen to be an 878 New Design ???)
Twin gene bulls are generally more fertile than other bulls ( better sperm counts...Much better carry and vitality ).
Cow lines and enviro generally have a touch more to do with dropping multiple eggs at ovulation which is the larger twin factor vs a bull.
If you want higher twinning incidence save bulls which were twins and breed em to hiefers which are twins.
Resulting offspring then gets a double copy of the trait.
Keep in mind that on your hiefer / bull ( sister / brother ) twins the hiefer is likely a free marten. So she's not a keeper. The brother though is a twin gene carry and fertility should be high on him.
Reason things work that way on free martens is that inutero testosterone production over takes estrogen thus the hiefer fetus ovaries get starved out.
