WC Iowa | had a 00 2500 ext cab, 6.0 and 3.73 gears, regular farm driving 13 mpg
have a 02 and 05 2500 HD crew 187,000 on the 02, 6.0 4.10 gears farm driving 10, long trips 12, pulling 20K gooseneck 5-6 MPG
also have a 03 crew, 8.1, 3.73, farm driving 6-8, longer trips 11, pulling 20K gooseneck 5-6
basically been pulling the gooseneck with the 6L till I got the 8.1, pulling the 8.1 is WAYYYY better, don't get me wrong the 6L does good, just have to turn some RRR's to get to the power, the 8.1 jsut have pure power without the RPMS. For short trips the 8.1 sucks gas, longer trips to town and no short stops and it's better,
Got the tranny out of the 02 6L and when it's fixed will prob sell the 8.1, due to short trips to do chores and such.
