Subject: RE: 3-way spray nozzles

Bourbon,Indiana

briggsfm,

I put on 5-way nozzles a few years ago and love them. I have a 3-pt. sprayer, so the mechanical transmission does limit me enough that I have a lot of nozzle sizes to give me almost unlimited speed/pressure/gpa options.

I too, had heard about problems. I have found the only nozzle bodies which begin to get stiff, are directly behind the tractor due to dust. About 4 nozzle bodies out of 38. That is acceptable to me.

This is, however, in no-till. In a tillage scenario,or other dusty conditions, I'm sure there could be more problems. As things are, I just take of those nozzles behind the tractor(once/year), clean a little and add some veggie oil to the o-rings. The time savings, to me, of not changing tips, is a huge benefit.
