We had a contractor that had to get rid of some asphalt last summer and did a pad for us. They said that they can only go 3-4 inches the first time. I don't think thats enough with the weight of a tractor and loader itself on it. We already have a crack in it after the cold spell we had. Will be interesting to see how or if it holds up in the spring when the frost comes out of the ground.
I would go with concrete if we had to but this was a spur of the moment thing. Another thing depends on your area. We have high water table in springs and thats why I'd go with concrete.
