I agree - but a reasonable bull to cow ratio (for the terrain) goes without saying. A yearling bull should however be able to cover 20-25 cows, at least when they are all in close quarters as mine are. My bull doesn't need to go too far to find a date. Maybe they won't all be on the first heat but seems like he should be able to do it on two heats and still maintain condition and grow if he has enough groceries. Or am I wrong? Maybe not in Saskatchewan-size pastures? Again more information in the original post would be helpful.
