Yes, the “dome” on the roof has the components of the nav controller in it, but it is a new design from Case, not Trimble.
The user interface is similar enough to the 700, but definitely different polished looking. Honestly, I almost prefer the 700 version, but the 1200 is growing on me.

As for the nav II, we’ve been using those for well over 10 years on many different tractors. And I just found out that there are different microchip versions. We recently sent in a nav II to be converted from Trimble to CaseIH and AgExpress said that there were new chips they could solder on to replace the old ones that performed better. They also updated firmware that they said would make a difference too. This navII had been on our Magnum 245 since we got it in 2010-ish and we were always disappointed in its ability to keep a straight line, especially in the sand. So I’d highly recommend sending your nav to AgExpress
