The open end does have a cap in it. I was hoping to put the grease zerks in that cap but there isn't enough clearance. The other end has a rubber boot. And I'll agree that two grease zerks would probably be wise. Atleast you'll have twice as many chances to have it in the right position.
Most engines have a favorite stopping position. I like to mark the flywheel in a visible area for a timing mark, then put the engine back at that mark when installing the driveline with the zerks facing where I can reach them. There's a good chance the engine will stop where you can access the zerks that way. |
