Southwest Illinois | 25 miles east of St. Louis. 25 years ago there were dealers in Waterloo, Mascoutah, Hamel, Nashville, Carlyle and Albers, all within 30 minutes of us. 3 of those are no longer AGCO dealers. Nashville is the largest left, but they are a New Holland dealer and that is mostly what they sell. Albers is run by very nice people, they just are kind of stuck in the 70's. I am not sure the status of the dealer north of Carlyle but they don't seem to move much. The Gleaner is a good machine, I personally think some of the components(bearing size, etc) are not built as well as others. The red machine is awfully simple and IMO the closest in terms of simplicity to the Gleaner. I want some service beyond the sale and there isn't much of that to be had around here. | |
