 West Chazy, New York | Don't do it. Silos designed for bottom unloaders are much stronger than for top unloaders. A bottom unloader creates a dome under the silage and much of the weight is supported by the walls. The silage under a top unloader is supported by the floor. If you are considering a top unload/bottom discharge like a Big Jim that is a different story. They work quite well but like anything else there is a learning curve. | |
