Subject: RE: Drone spraying??

Southeast Washington
We have a guy in the area that runs 9 drones and says he can cover 2700 acres a day with them or 300 acres each per day. He says ultimately one pilot can run 3 drones.

We hired them to spray noxious weeds on very hilly rangeland. They had about 250 acres to spray and used 4 drones sending out two at a time. There was about 1,000 feet of elevation change from bottom to top. They couldn't do above the rimrock as it was out is their visual from their command trailer. Their rate was cheaper than the helicopter rate.

We ran a 3 gallon rate and I think it is about 10 capacity. Their coverage map showed a lot of skips and he said that was the worst laying field he had ever tried spraying. I was busy pouring in sorting crop so wasn't there to see them the day they came to spray.
