Subject: fructose and leptin resistance

Pittsburg, Kansas

Fructose uses the same pathway to the liver as alcohol. Here is a presentation about fructose and obesity as well as a lot more including inflammation and Alzheimer's. It goes along with the line that obesity is only about calories in and calories out. Hormones make a difference. Table sugar (sucrose) is half glucose and half fructose. High fructose corn syrup is slightly higher in fructose. Fruit of course has some fructose but really fruit juice is where it is concentrated. The body also makes fructose and glucose can be converted to fructose, raising fructose in the brain.

Dr Richard Johnson and Dr Rob Lustig talk about it.
