| Dry to 65 works for me. I think it’s a matter of managing the wrapper to fit the hay. I like 40%m but like many others, take what the weather allows. I have bales till dark many times and wrapped next morning. I prefer to wrap as I bale but doesn’t always work. Like others said the wetter the hay the quicker it should be done but if you have a good sense bale I think you have some time. I test all my hay and have never seen any difference on waiting overnight to wrap.
I think dryer hay can get a little surface mold under plastic but i never found it to be much of an issue. When I say drier I mean like pretty much dry hay | |
