I bought an older one on an auction this winter. Always wanted to try one. Made a really chunky mess in most areas I ran it. I ran some trials in 5 different fields this spring. I will have some yield data this fall but actually tried to move the planter off the strips where I could because it was just too chunky. The chunks dried out and even after a rain it would have been hard to get good seed to soil contact. I have one field where I have passes with the dawn, passes with my hiniker shank bar and no-till so will be interesting to see how the yield turns out. Once I get some time I was going to try to talk to some people at dawn and other farmers I know that have them and see if there is something I need to change, but for my first experience it really messed up the areas I ran it.

What was the prior crop in the fields where the Pluribus left chunks? I was thrilled with the 2023 corn strips that my Pluribus made into 2022 soybean stubble, but not satisfied with strips into alfalfa (which were already stripped in fall 2022). The alfalfa ground was left very chunky. I'd also like to know what adjustments can be made to address chunks.
