Subject: Re: Train cars on the loose at GM

East Prairie, MO
And due to liability I would imagine if a vehicle involved even had a scratch it was completely destroyed. 2 years ago a train hauling Nissan's derailed just North of here right across the field from where my dad worked. Nissan came in immediately and locked down the area, brought in a crusher and proceeded to crush ANY vehicle that was in a railcar that wasn't sitting on the track properly. If even one axle of the car was off the track the whole thing was a loss. There were many long faces of people that would love to have one of those vehicles that appeared to have no damage as the horns would blare and lights would flash when the excavator grabbed up Maxima's and Tundra's and set them in the crusher! So many things that could have been saved wasted over the liability of any of the parts hitting the road and it being found out they were involved in the wreck, sickening!
