Those Seppman kits look slick, but they are a little pricey. They would probably be worth it if installing a hydrant with concrete surrounding it: https://www.seppmannenterprises.com/
I prefer to backfill my hydrants installation with sand for easy digging. I've got some Woodfords that are 35 years old and still working fine.
