Subject: RE: Discbine Maintenance

Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio
I don’t flip or replace blades just because it’s the beginning of the year. That’s an as needed thing. Grease and check oil in cutter bar and gear box. One of the simplest machines on the farm for preventative maintenance. I do give the belts a quick look but adjusting and replacing is a as needed thing too. I’ve looked at the belts before and thought they looked a little loose but tried them anyway. I think it was two years later before I tightened them a little. Only time I replaced belts was from damage from a stick that somehow got into them. I mow less than 500 acres a year (no rocks hear either). so my wear and tear is probably different than others
