Huntley Montana | 2 large V belts grab the top of the plant, a rotating disc cuts the stalk. the v belts then pull the stalk between 2 rollers that remove the ears that then drop on a apron chain. The stalks are ejected out the side, the ears travel past a suction fan to remove some of the trash then drop on a converer that takes the ears to a trailer being pulled by the picker, or into a PU/trailer drove alongside. I made a hitch to pull a PU backwards when picking so it stayed where it was needed. Picking speed is about 2.5-3 mph. I have my machine for sale because I no longer have the time for sweet corn. When I had 3 other crops I had time, now with just Hay & Malt barley they both DEMAND all my time late july/augest so I cann't do sweet corn. | |
