Lawton MI | Hay is a part of our no-till, row crop rotation. Usually works like this; no till corn into burned down hay fields year one, no till drilled beans year two at which time there’s nearly no trace of sod and year three no till drill new hay into bean stubble. Sometimes on newly rented ground we use two years of corn then beans to clean up stubborn weeds. If the field is too rough after beans we will disk and field cultivate light enough to level then plant hay. | |
