I operate sprayers for a living. Deere machines are heavy but they are made to be used and abused. If you can afford a newer R series, get one. A 4940 and a 4038 are actually close in weight but the plumbing,booms and cab on the 4038 are so much better. If your spraying in conditions that you leave ruts, buy some bigger tires or wait for dryer weather.
Unfortunately, we farm in beds, only so wide we can go with floaters. As to waiting, I’d be further behind than we are now, and I’m behind! We will have to keep one or two of the small machines. |
