4038 is most definitely heavier by about 9000 pounds, according to factory specs. Not all that is on the front. So the back is certainly heavier.
30 series has a weight bracket on the front for a reason, same as tractors: to add weight when needed for better "balance". We have 6 or 8 on our 4830.
How can a 9000 pound heavier machine leave less ruts? Not buying that...
